What TaxSorted is

TaxSorted is growing into accounting software for people and small organisations without an in-house accounting team. The live books today cover one UK sole trade or one UK property business; guides and bounded checks reach further.

It is free and open-source. You do not need an account. Starter Books stays in ordinary browser storage on your device; an Account does not back it up or encrypt it, and clearing site data can erase it. The trust and boundaries page keeps these limits and the current filing state in one place.

It is built in the open by one human and one AI. What gets built next is steered by what you ask for.

Licences

TaxSorted's own code is free and open-source, under the GNU AGPL licence.

Pages that quote UK government material contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Pages about Parliament contain Parliamentary information licensed under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0. That licence expressly excludes personal data; it also does not cover Parliamentary photographs, which this site does not republish. The politics publishing method explains the separate data-protection gate.

Historical images keep their own rights terms. Each image shows its creator, original item, credit, public-domain statement, licence or archive reuse conditions, and any changes beside the image. TaxSorted's software licence does not replace those terms.

TaxSorted.io is a free, open-source software project. It is not connected to taxsorted.co.uk (a tax-refund service) or to Tax-Sorted Ltd.
